As many as 17 people died after the bus fell off a cliff into the ocean near Choiseul Village on November 10. The bus driver was a friend of Sammy's father.
"I would like to express my sincere condolences to the community in Dugard and St Lucia. This is the most tragic accident we have had in the history of the island. My heart goes out to the community and families in this tragic time." After that, Sammy controlled his emotions. "Being a positive person, I intend to use this (tragic accident) as a motivation to go out there to play well.
"If there is one thing that could bring a smile to faces in such times is a West Indies team win," he told reporters on the eve of today's second Test against India here at Eden Gardens.u00a0u00a0Sammy is also the first member of St Lucia island to find a place in the West Indies team.
