It was an incredible series, says Aussie journo Jesse Hogan

Australian journalist Jesse Hogan, who writes for The Age, talks to MiD DAY on his tour experience:

You keep hearing about India's cricketing passion, but you don't really get to understand it until you watch it from close quarters the way the fans go crazy every time they see a cricketer the amount of media covering the game and things like that.

When I arrived here for the Champions League Twenty20, people back home weren't quite sure about how the tournament will pan out. But with regards to the ODI series, even the newspapers are taken aback by the outcome of the series. As a result, I have enjoyed every bit of the series along with two other Australian journalists Richard Earle and Daniel Brettig.

Anyone who watched the Hyderabad one-dayer will never forget that match. I don't think there would have been any cricket fan worldwide who would have been unhappy to see India winning that game. I was not happy to see Sachin Tendulkar return from that game without a win because he really deserved that.

The only difficult times came while visiting Guwahati and Bangalore (for the Champions League). The mobile and internet connections were not so great at Guwahati while there was a security scare in Bangalore.

However, they always had it under control and handled it well, so it wasn't a big problem.
