Exciting challenge
“Real Madrid fans are particularly fond of the European cup. If you’re asking me to pick one then I’d have to go with the Champions League. Winning a second successive Champions League title has never been achieved before and is an exciting challenge,” said Casillas.
Casillas overlapped with the view of his coach, Italian Carlo Ancelotti, who sees a greater chance of winning the European title rather than La Liga where Real Madrid is trying to keep up with Barcelona.
Real Madrid will face Sevilla in a tough game today in the 35th round of La Liga but Casillas in confident of his team’s chances as Barcelona will be facing Cordoba. The goalkeeper also praised the level of Unai Emery’s Sevilla squad.
“They are also fighting for a Champions League place and are through to the Europa League semi-finals. But there are three vital points up for grabs as we need to win all our games and hope that Barcelona slip up. We want to make it difficult for Barcelona by picking up three hugely important points in our bid to win La Liga,” he said.
