Visitors had won the India-Canada Cup 2-0 having beaten the hosts in the opening and third game of the series while the second match was drawn. India started the match on an attacking note and earned a penalty corner in the 11th minute which was superbly converted by skipper Surinder Kaur. Two minutes later, Canada restored parity through a penalty corner conversion by Diane Roemer.
India took the lead in the 24th minute when Saba Anjum slammed in from a fast counter-attack. India led 2-1 at half time. After lemon break, Canada held the ball well and had a lot of possession but were unable to convert until the 50th minute when Roemer scored again through a penalty corner.
In the last 10 minutes, both the teams played at a high pace but were unable to break the deadlock. India will now fly to Germany tomorrow to feature in the Four-Nations tournament at Essen from June 25-27. The other teams in the field are Germany, Australia and Ireland.
