Shatrughan Sinha will attend Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal wedding

It was just recently when Shatrughan Sinha shared that he doesn't know anything about Sonakshi Sinha's wedding plans with beau Zaheer Iqbal. Now an update suggests that Shatrughan Sinha is upset with his daughter Sonakshi for not informing him about her wedding plans. This information has come from her ‘mama’ Pahlaj Nihalani.

When Pahlaj was asked about Shatrughan Sinha's reaction, he shared that the actor is upset with his 'laadli,' but his anger will not last long. Pahlaj also shared that Sinha will attend Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's wedding, which is planned for June 23 in an intimate ceremony.

Speaking with Times Now, Pahlaj said, “Ha, but he can’t remain upset for long, not with Sonakshi. She is his laadli. Shaadi nahin attend karne ka koi sawaal hi nahi paida hota. As Shatruji said to you, aaj kal he bachche inform karte hain, permission nahin lete. Why should he be upset if Sonakshi is marrying the boy of her choice? Shatruji himself married a girl of his choice forty years ago. Even I chose my own life partner when I married my wife. One should not have unrealistic expectations from one’s children.”

Further, Pahlaj defended Sinha's initial reaction and said, “You must have spoken to him when he was out of Mumbai for almost three months due to elections. Bhabhiji must have known. She must have decided to tell him about it (the marriage) after his return. Now he is back in Mumbai, and all is well between Sonakshi and her family.”

Shatrughan Sinha on Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal's wedding

Shatrughan told Times Now, “I am in Delhi right now. After the election results, I flew down here. I haven’t spoken to anyone about my daughter’s plans. So your question is, is she getting married? The answer is that she hasn’t told me anything about it. Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. We wish her all happiness always.”

“We trust our daughter’s judgement completely. She would never make an extra-constitutional or illegal decision. As a consenting adult, she has the right to make her own decisions. Having said that, I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to be dancing right in front of the baaraat,” he said.

Talking about how he has been flooded with calls about the impending wedding, he said, "I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this (the supposed wedding), and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed,” he concluded.

About the reports

Reports suggest that Sonakshi and Zaheer will marry at a South Mumbai venue. However, the couple has not confirmed any of the reports regarding their upcoming marriage. According to media reports, the wedding invitation is said to be designed like a magazine cover with the text "rumours are true."
