Here's one more dimension to Aamir Khan's Mr Perfectionist role. The actor has been evincing a keen interest even in subtitling his next film, 3 Idiots!
He has been poring over the English translations of the dialogues to get it right, checking the spellings and ensuring that the syntax is correct.

To the director's surprise, within three hours of the conversation, Aamir landed up at the production office where the subtitling work was in progress. The actor offered to help and then attended all the subtitling sessions that spread over a few days.
Adds Hirani, "Subtitling is a tedious and painstaking task. You have to check not only that the translations match the dialogues but also the spellings and grammar. I was shocked when Aamir volunteered to sit on the subtitling desk to check the spellings and grammar!"
According to the director, Aamir did a good job of the subtitling too! "Normally, no actor gets involved in all this kind of stuff. But then that's Aamir who shows so much passion and zeal for everything. There is this sense of pride and love for what he does. He is so involved in every aspect of a film. It is like everything about the film just right including the subtitling!"
Apart from Aamir, 3 Idiots stars Kareena Kapoor, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. The Vidhu Vinod Chopra production is slated for a Christmas release.
