A 43-year-old security guard has died in a fire that occurred in the Vidyavihar area of Mumbai early on Monday.

According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the level-2 (significant) blaze occurred at 4.35 am in Takshshila society at Neelkanth Kingdom Complex on Nathani Road, opposite Vidyavihar Station.
The fire had spread to the electric wiring, electric installation, household articles, wooden furniture, AC unit, and clothes in five flats on the first and the second floors and wooden wall fittings, shoe racks, and furniture on the first and second-floor lobby of the ground-plus-podium-plus upper 13th floored high-rise building.
The fire was controlled at 7.33 am, the Mumbai Fire Brigade said.
While 15 to 20 people have been rescued safely, the security guards of the society suffered burn injuries in the incident.
According to the medical officer of Rajawadi Hospital, Uday Gangan had 100 per cent burn injuries and was brought dead to the facility. The other guard, Sabhajit Yadav, 52, has suffered 25-30 per cent burns. He is undergoing treatment in the trauma ward of the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade informed that two more people have suffered minor injuries.
While 73-year-old Kamala Ramesh Jain has sustained a minor burn injury to her righthand elbow, Jitendra Ramesh Jain, 46, has suffered injuries on the back of his neck. They were both given treatment by a private doctor in the society.
Fire in Thane building; 64 electric meters damaged
As many as 64 electricity meters were damaged after a fire broke out in an eight-storey building in Maharashtra's Thane city on Monday morning, an official said.
No person was injured in the blaze which was reported at 6.33 am in the electrical meter room of the Chintamani Heights building, located near a temple at Kharegaon in Kalwa area, Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said.
Emergency teams, including personnel from the Kalwa police, a private power supply company, fire brigade and the regional disaster management cell, rushed to the spot, reported news agency PTI.
A rescue vehicle and a fire engine were deployed to tackle the fire.
The blaze caused damage to 64 electricity meters, the official said.
The fire remained confined to the meter room, preventing further damage to the 56 residential units and seven shops located on the ground floor of the building, he said.
The blaze was completely doused by 7.02 am, Tadvi said, adding an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.
The official advised residents to remain cautious and ensure proper maintenance of electrical meters to prevent such incidents in future.
