As ‘Padmaavat’ clocks six years of release, we can’t help but shed light on how Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Sultan Alauddin Khilji was one of the best performances ever, that still continues to live in the hearts of millions! What added a unique touch to this character, is how he effortlessly pulled off the ‘Binte Dil’ song, with no rehearsal.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production house, bhasnsaliproductions even shared a video on the occasion which consisted of stills from the movie. They captioned the post as, "Celebrating the glorious saga of Rani Padmavati's strength, Rajputi virtues of Maharawal Ratan Singh, courage of Mehrunissa and the triumph over evil with #6YearsOfPadmaavat.

In an earlier interview, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali opened up on how Ranveer improvised the steps spontaneously, without any previous rehearsal. With 'Binte Dil,' Ranveer not only showcased his acting finesse but also revealed his spontaneous choreographic brilliance!

He quoted, "I was shooting this bathtub song in Padmaavat; 'Binte Dil' with Jim Sarbh and Ranveer in the bathtub. And I didn’t know what to do. I went over there and I said Jim Morrison and Zeenat Aman - mix the two. He said give me one hour. I need to first debrief and understand & then understand what the hell are you talking about?

And then he came, and I said, “I don’t want to see rehearsal, we’ll go for the take straight away.” He didn’t know what hit him. And when he performed, I was so moved by what he did because that is how an actor is improvising. I’m improvising. We had no brief. We didn’t know what to do. And it’s constantly discovering the moment on the set."

In a remarkable feat, as mentioned there were no rehearsals; The dance evolved organically as the cameras rolled, capturing the essence of his creativity in every unscripted move which just goes on to prove that he’s the best actor we have from his generation! Besides Ranveer, 'Padmaavat' starred Shahid Kapoor as Maharaja Rawal Ratan and Deepika Padukone as his wife Rani Padmavati.

As far as future project are concerned, Sanjay is planning his next film 'Love & War' which will be releasing on Christmas 2025. The film has a huge star cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.

This project marks the second collaboration of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt, after 2022's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. Interestingly, this is also Ranbir's second collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He made his acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya' in 2007. Further details regarding 'Love & War' have not been disclosed yet.
