Two persons died after their SUV hit a truck and crashed into the railing on the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway on Monday, according to police. Per a PTI report, the accident happened in the Buldhana district around 9.30 am.

The police official told news agency PTI that the two occupants of the SUV were killed when the vehicle rammed into the rear of the truck and later crashed into the railing on the expressway.

According to the report, the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

Reportedly, a similar accident happened on the Sambhajinagar Highway on Sunday night wherein one person was injured and another killed.

The news agency report quoted another official saying that the accident occurred between a truck and a tipper near Kingaonraja village around 11 pm.

The official told PTI that the driver of the tipper had died while the accused truck driver had sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in Jalna and that a case has been registered.

In another accident on Samruddhi Expressway, a woman died and two people were injured in an accident between a private bus and a state transport bus in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, police said on Sunday. On Saturday morning, a private bus heading from Surat to Mehkar collided with a state transport bus from behind along the Chikhali-Mehkar portion of the Samruddhi Expressway, stated another PTI report.

A female passenger on the state transport bus sustained fatal injuries and was confirmed dead at a nearby hospital. Two additional passengers were injured and are receiving medical treatment. The driver of the luxury bus was arrested under Section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code for causing death by negligence, among other accusations, the report stated.

Another incident occurred earlier in April on the Samruddhi Motorway in Maharashtra's Nashik region, killing at least two people and seriously injuring three more, according to PTI.

The SUV was driving from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Nashik when it lost control and flipped in Khamble Shivar village, near Sinnar. Bajirao Eknath Gangurde (65) and Nisha Ramkisan Gatkal (20) died, with one admitted to a private hospital in Sinnar and the other to Nashik's District Civil Hospital, according to a news agency report.
